OZONE HEALTH AND FITNESS is leading a Clare Christmas Food Drive to help families in need over the festive period.

Items will be accepted until Friday so that management of the Ennis gym along with their dedicated team of volunteers will be able to have non-perishable food and other household items dropped off in time for Christmas.

€3,000 worth of food and essential supplies were donated as part of the Christmas Food Drive last year in what was Ozone’s first time getting involved in the initiative.

Located in the Quin Rd Business Park, Ozone have installed a donation box at its reception for members of the public to give items to help others this Christmas. Already the reaction has been overwhelming, management of the gym have said.

Manager of Ozone, Mike Hogan stated that it was important to give back at this time of year. “Ennis is the best town in Ireland, we’re proud of our place and our people. This time of year is all about family and friends getting together to celebrate the year we had and the promise of the year to come. It is also a time to think of those less fortunate and true to our DNA as proud Irish people we reach out and help.

“Last Christmas, the Ozone team launched a food drive within our amazing community and we were humbled by our clients amazing generosity. We’ve teamed up with some truly inspirational people led by local woman Kathleen Austin to lend a hand in what they have been doing for countless years,” Mike added.

Kathleen explained that anything that is associated with Christmas such as turkey and ham would be ideal gifts for those less well off “so they they have that extra little bit of cash to pay a bill”.

Families across Clare will benefit from the Food Drive, Mike said, “This will make all the difference to families in Clare in need, our families our people”.
