ENNIS RFC trio Tony Butler, Ethan Coughlan and Conor Moloney have all been named on the Munster replacements bench for this Sunday’s Champions Cup game against London Wasps.

With 14 members of the Munster squad still in quarantine in South Africa, EPCR confirmed last week to extend the Champions Cup player registration date.

Munster have confirmed today that Butler (outhalf), Coughlan (scrum half) and Moloney (back row) will all feature on the matchday squad of 23 this Sunday’s group game (Round 1) at the Coventry Building Society Arena (3.15pm, live on BT Sport).

Twelve players are set to make their Munster debuts in total. It signifies a baptism of fire for outhalf Butler who just last month was announced as one of Munster’s three new academy signings, joining Coughlan. Conor Moloney is a member of the National Talent Squad.

The trio all lined out together for Ennis RFC through the underage ranks achieving multiple provincial successes. As recently as last year at U18 level when they reached a Munster final which was cancelled due to Covid-19. They are the first Clare men to adorn the Munster jersey at senior level since Killaloe hooker Damien Varley, and the first Ennis RFC members to represent Munster since the professional era.
