Cocaine and cannabis with a combined value of over €40,000 plus an air pistol and air rifle were seized at a Kilrush property on Friday.

Gardaí from the Clare Divisional Drugs Unit with the assistance of uniformed Gardaí from Kilrush Garda Station carried out a search under warrant at a house in Kilrush as part of Operation Tara targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the county.

Suspected Cocaine with an estimated street value of €35,000, eight Cannabis Plants with an estimated street value of €6,500 and an air pistol and air rifle were seized as part of the search. The suspected controlled drugs will be forwarded to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.

A male in his mid thirties was arrested at the scene and was detained at Kilrush Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996. This male has since been charged and released on bail to appear before Kilrush District Court in the coming days.
