Brian Lohan has officially been ratified as Clare senior hurling manager for a further three years.

Proposed by O’Callaghans Mills’ Robert Frost and seconded by Dominick Conroy of Michael Cusacks, Lohan will now guide Clare for the next three seasons.

No detail was provided on the make-up of the Shannon man’s management team and whether there will be any changes to it. Selector Ken Ralph has been present at club games both in the company of the two-time All-Ireland winner and on his own.

In response to a query from David Solon from Whitegate as to “the delay in making this appointment”, Chairman of Clare GAA, Jack Chaplin said “there was no delay. I spoke to him within a week of Clare’s season ending”.

Scariff’s Sean Brogan asked why the U17 and U20 managements hadn’t been appointed and the chairman replied “we are working on that at present. We have had discussions with all managers and we nearly have all in place”.
