Sixmilebridge’s Stephen Murray had reason to celebrate in Galway over the weekend recording a double success on Saturday night.
The Sean Conlon owned and Stephen Murray of Sixmilebridge trained Bumblebee Dylan (Droopys Jet-Gunner Maisie) never saw another rival in the third contest at the Galway Track on Saturday night last for this S5 graded sprint contest as he made all the running from his trap six berth to score by four and a half lengths over Traceys Tiger in 19.20.
Smartly into his stride the winner led Traceys Tiger by over a length racing towards the opening bend with Ringroe Rascal in third place. Between the two bends the winner extended his advantage as he strode clear up the home straight.
Murray completed his double in the A5 graded fifth contest as the Paul Conlon owned Besloe Missouri never saw another rival as she recorded her second career success by six and three quarter lengths over Springwell Zoey in 29.31.
In the A3 tenth graded 525 yards contest, Ballylean Rogue owned by Doora’s Paddy Collins delivered a career best time as he recorded his fourth career victory by two and three quarter lengths over Come On Charlie in 29.06.
The fastest time over the sprint distance on last Saturday night’s Limerick Card was Rockalong Rocket in race eight for owner Michael McNamara of Tulla. Running from trap five, Rockalong Rocket came through the bars to lead Gurtnacrehyblake into the opening corner. Tracking well thereafter, the son of Droopys Cain and Sues Stout stuck to his task well to see off his rival by three parts of a length at the winning line. The time was a swift 18.84.
At the Thurles Track also on Saturday night last, Confused Fitzy ran a fine race to claim the S1/S2 330-yard contest. Owned by Gerry Manley of Cratloe, Confused Fitzy came away racing wearing the stripes and he showed terrific early gears to sweep the opening bend clear of Hon The Jet. Maintaining a strong gallop thereafter, the son of Confident Rankin- Confused Breda crossed the line with a length and a half in hand, in a time of 18.04.
