Ennis athlete Dean Casey has been selected to represent his country in the U20 European Championships.
Winner of the U18 National Cross Country Championship in 2019, the Ennis Track athlete, Dean will now be representing his country in the U20 European Championships.
Coached by Pat Hogan, the St Flannan’s College pupil has been earmarked as the one of the top athletic prospects in the county.
“Any athlete trained by Pat receives his undivided attention, a coach who like many others volunteers many hours for the love of athletics and to encourage every athlete to be their best,” a spokesperson for Ennis Track outlined.
It is the latest lift for the club with Cratloe’s Cathal Crosbie having got the nod for the Athletics Ireland team in the European U23 Championship. The Ennis Track athlete was part of the 30 strong Irish contingent. He was involved in the men’s 4 X 400m relay and is coached by Hayley and Drew Harrison.
