The return of competitions at golf clubs last week resulted in big entries all round.

Woodstock:
In a club singles at Woodstock, held over Wednesday and Thursday, Stephen Dunne (11) was the winner with 43 points from Ryan Enright (10) with 42 points with Colm Hassett (20) in third place with 40 points Kieran Cunnane won the gross with 35 points.

A similar competition took place at the weekend when Gerry Kelly (3) was the winner with 40 points from Pat Ryan (15) with 39, Ryan Enright (10) with 39 and Cathal Oโ€™Neill (15), also with 39. Brian Gilligan (+2) won the gross with 35 points.

The 2โ€™s competition was won by Cathal Nagle at the 14th hole.

This weekend the AMR Shanaway cup fourball betterball qualifier will take place and the top eight teams will qualify for the knockout stage. There will be a club singles on Wednesday and Thursday, May 26 and 27.

East Clare:
East Clare hosted a ladies singles stableford competition at the weekend when the winner was Noreen Skehan with 34 points from Marie Donnellan with 32 points.

A menโ€™s team of two competition is taking place throughout the week.

Shannon:
A menโ€™s 18 hole singles competition at Shannon at the weekend was won by Brendan Foley (13) with 40 points from Vinny Scully (6) with a similar score. Brian Quane (11) was third with 39 points followed by Barry Deasy (11) with 38. Ed Hickey (scratch) won the gross with 32 points..

The winner of the 9 hole competition was Greg Moloney (9) with 20 points from Jamie Hodge (5) with 19 points.
