Ennistymon

Safety signage is to be erected along an Ennistymon riverwalk.

Installation of the signage was proposed by Cllr Shane Talty (FF) at a recent sitting of the West Clare Municipal District.

He believed motorists needed to be warned of walkers “emerging from the Falls River Walk and returning to Ennistymon”. Talty’s motion was seconded by Cllr Joe Garrihy (FG).

Senior executive engineer, Enda MacNamara confirmed, “Safety signage will be installed on this section of road to highlight the presence of pedestrians”.

A voluntary work aided by the provision of €69,462 from CLÁR funding helped to develop the riverwalk two years ago. “It is getting huge usage and has been very popular during COVID-19,” Cllr Talty added.
