Daily figures of COVID-19 in Clare have dropped 24 hours on from recording the second highest tally for this month.

Less than five new cases of the virus are known in Co Clare, NPHET stated on Monday evening. It comes 24 hours after a total of 12 new cases were reported in the county.

Clare’s 14 day incidence rate per 100k of the population is no 58.8 and as such is the fifth lowest in the country and also represents a decrease.

Nationally, 539 new cases have been diagnosed with 262 in Dublin, 32 in Kildare, 30 in Westmeath, 26 in Galway, 21 in Meath, 21 in Offaly and the remaining 147 cases are spread across 20 other counties.

An additional one death related to the virus has been recorded bringing the country’s death toll from COVID-19 to 4,667.

Latest hospital numbers from 8am on Monday showed that 70 persons are in critical care due to COVID-19, they are included in the 331 hospitalised, 19 of which were admitted in the past 24 hours.

786,569 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Ireland as of Friday, 219,546 people have received both doses.
