Conversations as Gaeilge are encouraged for the remainder of the biggest festival in the Irish language.

Established by Conradh na Gaeilge in 1902, Seachtain na Gaeilge is the biggest international Irish-language festival promoting the use of Irish language and culture, both at home and abroad.

In Clare, an online music series has been commissioned for Seachtain na Gaeilge which will be released on the YouTube page of Clare County Council prior to St Patrick’s Day.

An online ciorcal comhrá is to be held by the local authority to further promote the use of the Irish language while Irish language sessions for Council staff have been launched in recent weeks to encourage conversations as Gaeilge.

Speaking on Monday’s meeting of Clare County Council, Cllr Mark Nestor (FF) detailed the importance of using the cúpla focal for both elected representatives and also Council management.
