An increase of 15 diagnoses of COVID-19 in Clare has been recorded while nationally 33 more deaths and 744 new cases are known.

Clare continues to have the fourth lowest 14 day incidence rate per 100k of the population across the country. The figure of 144.8 remains below the national rate of 269.3. The National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) have stated there are 15 new cases of the virus in the county, the figure will be validated by the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) tomorrow.

Nationally, 744 further cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed. 301 are in Dublin, 77 in Galway, 37 in Waterford, 36 in Offaly, 32 in Kildare and the remaining 261 cases are spread across all other counties.

Notification of 33 additional deaths has been issued to the HPSC. 31 of these deaths occurred in February and 2 in January. The median age of those who died was 81 years and the age range was 42-105 years. One death has been de-notified, to date 3,980 persons have died from COVID-19 related deaths in the country.

Data from 8am on Tuesday noted that 159 of the 861 in Irish hospitals as a result of COVID-19 were in critical care. 51 additional hospitalisations were recorded in the past 24 hours.

NPHET have confirmed that 268,551 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Ireland as of Saturday. 176,926 people have received their first dose and 91,625 people have received their second dose.
