Mobile coverage issues in West Clare have been resolved, eir have stated while the company is also progressing a new site in Miltown Malbay.

Intermittent call issues in Miltown Malbay have been reviewed by eirโ€™s mobile technical team with a fix implemented.

Clare TD, Michael McNamara (IND) who raised the matter in Dรกil ร‰ireann has welcomed the review. โ€œEir’s mobile coverage problems throughout West Clare have proven to be very disruptive to customers, particularly those working from home and students engaged in remote learning. I raised the issue in Dรกil ร‰ireann and with the CEO of eir on several occasions last month and I welcome the progress that has been made since in providing a fixโ€.

He added, โ€œThe company says it has checked the performance of its mobile services in West Clare since it implemented the fix and has seen no repeat issuesโ€.

A new site has been progressed by the telecommunications company in Miltown Malbay to further enhance data speeds in the locality and is expected to go live on Friday (February 19th).

Deputy McNamara was hopeful the new site would โ€œbring an end to the longstanding coverage issues being experienced throughout the areaโ€.
