Less than five new cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Co Clare among the 318 nationally.

Clare’s 14 day incidence rate per 100k of the population has fallen to 86.7 following confirmation of fewer than five new cases in the county. Recently the county had the fourth highest 14-day incidence rate of the virus in the country at 303.

On Sunday evening, the Department of Health stated that of the 318 new cases across the country, 126 are in Dublin, 45 in Cork, 28 in Limerick, 21 in Donegal, 18 in Kildare and the remaining 80 cases are spread across 18 other counties.

Notification of one further death related to the virus has been issued to the Health Protection Surveillance Centre. Since the outbreak of Coronavirus in the Republic of Ireland, 2,023 persons have died.
