Staff at a Clarecastle pharmacy were robbed at knifepoint on Wednesday.

Garda officials have confirmed the incident took place shortly after 11am last week at Clarecastle Pharmacy on the village’s main road.

A lone male entered the premises of Clarecastle Pharmacy with a knife in his hand and demanded money from staff. Employees have been left shaken following the incident.

He left with a small amount of cash on foot in the direction of Clarecastle village.

Public information is being sought by Gardaí as part of their investigation. “We are asking anyone who may have seen this man around the village of Clarecastle or entering or leaving the Pharmacy or anyone who has dash cam footage to contact Ennis Garda Station on 065 6848100,” crime prevention officer Tríona Brooks stated.
