Clare have โa lot of issuesโ that need addressing before they take on Kildare in the second round of the Allianz National Football League.
Speaking following their one point opening round defeat to Westmeath, manager Colm Collins was particularly annoyed with their wastefulness in front of goal. They had seven wides during the contest, with some very ambitious efforts attempted in the opening half.
โI was very disappointed with our first half display especially our shot selection, you canโt expect to win a game with that type of thing happening, itโs as simple as that, we have a bit of work to do but itโs an end of January game that could have gone either way, we were disappointed we didnโt at least get a point out of itโ.
Doonbegโs David Tubridy accounted for 0-08 of their 1-11 tally last weekend and Collins is determined to see an improvement in this sector come Sunday. โWeโre home to Kildare this weekend, weโve had to sort out a lot of issues from this game. Rome wasnโt built in a day but definitely our shooting efficiency will be a lot betterโ.
Conall ร hรinifรฉin sustained a hamstring tear last week and is expected to miss Clareโs first home game of the 2020 League.
