A new bye-law on rules regarding home and away strips in the GAA has been put forward by Naomh Eoin.

As per Rule 4 (Equipment) of Treoraรญ Oifigiรบil, โ€œClubs teams shall wear their registered distinctive colours in inter-club competitions. Where there is a similarity of colours, the teams shall change to their alternative registered colour(s) approved by the County Committeeโ€.

Naomh Eoin added extra detail to the rule with a motion passed at the annual convention of Clare GAA earlier this month. โ€œIn the event that the clubsโ€™ respective registered alternative colours are also similar to each other, then the โ€˜home teamโ€™ (in the case of a league or other home/away fixture) shall be entitled to wear their registered colours. In championship games and other games in neutral venues, the first team drawn shall be deemed to be the home team for this purposeโ€.

Kieran Keating when speaking about the motion said they were keen to see the motion go before Congress โ€œif worthyโ€ and insisted they would โ€œamend the motion if neededโ€. The motion was seconded without comment from other clubs.
