A transfer request from two time All-Ireland U21 medallist Davy O’Halloran to leave Éire Óg has been approved by Clare GAA.

Although he was a member of the county senior football panel in 2019, O’Halloran played no part for his club in the 2019 senior championship in football or hurling. Man of the match in the 2013 All-Ireland U21 hurling final, Davy will soon be heading to Australia.

He will be lining out with Wolfe Tones in Australia in the coming months following the approval of his transfer request at the end of November meaning that he will not be part of Colm Collins’ squad in 2020.

On the back of his exploits with the county U21s, O’Halloran was drafted into the senior squad and was a member of the extended panel that won the 2013 All-Ireland title. He featured in the 2014 qualifiers against Wexford but his time on the panel came to a controversial end following a disagreement with then manager Davy Fitzgerald regarding disciplinary measures in March 2015.

As Wolfe Tones in Australia gain one ex Clare hurler, they have lost another as Aaron Cunningham is back in the Banner County. His transfer back to Wolfe Tones na Sionna came through in June of this year.
