Quilty’s Chloe Moloney collected her first Women’s National League title over the weekend.

Chloe was introduced from the bench as Dublin outfit Peamount Utd were crowned league champions for the first time since 2012 following their 8-1 victory over Cork City on Saturday night. As a result, they have qualified for the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Peamount finished with finished with 56 points from their 21 games, two more than Shelbourne in the Só Hotels Women’s National League championship. It is their second time winning the WNL since the inaugural 2011/12 campaign.

Moloney took to the field on fifty eight minutes to play her part in the success of the Newcastle club. In April, Chloe featured in The Clare Echo’s #CantSeeCantBe series as part of the 20×20 campaign. Back then, she outlined that if the club were to be successful in Ireland and qualify for competitions such as the Champions League it would benefit her career.

“Peamount is coming first for me, that is my club and that’s where you get picked if you are playing well with your club, I’m working hard in Carlow, I’m only 21 and there are very good girls ahead of me that have a lot of experience. Hopefully we can start winning leagues and cups, get more experience by playing Champions League against clubs from different areas and better players, just have to keep improving and hope Colin Bell comes in and gives me a chance, at the minute my focus is on Peamount and trying to win something with Peamount and we’ll see what happens after that”.
