Full results of the water quality tests at Kilkee beach will be known as of Wednesday afternoon.

On Saturday morning, a do not swim notice was issued following the discharge of wastewater into the sea. It caused the postponement of the Kilkee Bay Swim till August 24th plus a one day delay and change in venue to the Munster Life Saving Championships.

Clare County Council has confirmed that the full results of water quality tests conducted at Kilkee beach during Monday will be known on Wednesday afternoon. The lifting of the existing bathing prohibition notice at Kilkee beach will be determined by the HSE, based on its review of the results tomorrow.

Nevsail Watersports were forced to cancel weekend bookings with owner Dave Neville outlining their disappointment, “So so gutted and so damaging to all of Kilkee and Co Clare. We had to cancel groups all weekend but we have decided to try and keep positive and move the Watersports for the kids and teenagers booked into the Kilkee watersports camps to Carrigaholt until things go back to normal and are hopefully signed off by Wednesday as being safe to operate from again”.
