WHILE one panel beater in County Meath celebrated Grand National success this month when his son Gordon Elliot’s Tiger Roll made it two-in-a-row at Aintree, another panel beater in Clare is toasting success for a very different reason. In trading conditions where thriving in business can be difficult across the board, Prestige Motors this year proudly celebrates 21 years in operation.

Local businessman Liam Hickey established Prestige Motors in 1998 at the Doora Industrial Estate on the Quin Road, Ennis, where today you’ll still find Liam and his team of skilled workers carrying out motor body repairs. While the team has grown in number from two to five, much remains the same for Liam and co including an emphasis on customer satisfaction and exceptional workmanship.

With a 21-year body of work under his bonnet, Liam and the Prestige Motors team specialise in all types of motor body repairs. They offer free estimates and deal with all insurance companies directly. They provide customers with a fast, reliable and competitively priced service while using the best equipment available to ensure top class results.

All vehicle makes and models can be repaired and resprayed with Prestige. They use a USI Italia Spraybake oven, which is a state of the art spray booth that will give you better paint adhesion and a smoother finish.

Their services include; crash repairs, scratch repairs, dent repairs, panel beating, structural repairs, respray of damaged panels and parts, replacement of damaged panels and parts, and more.

A motto which Prestige Motors abides by is ‘Your car, your choice’. Liam develops on this by explaining that in the current market, insurance companies are attempting to dictate to motorists where they should have their repair work carried out. Across the pond in Britain, it led to a crisis in the skilled industry with many smaller business forced to close their doors after being ultimately eliminated from the market. However there is no onus on the customer when it comes to choosing a business to carry out their crash repairs, or any motor body repairs.

While the insurance industry is adding to the challenge of running a small, specialised crash repair company, Liam gives assurances that the whole process – from your repair estimate to processing payment – is seamless with Prestige Motors. “It’s the customer’s choice where they want their car repaired, you’re under no obligation [to be influenced by insurance companies],” Liam explains.

“We do everything, we deal with the estimate onward, and we deal directly with the insurance company then… We try and make it as easy as we can for the customer.”

With his strong local client base in mind, Liam adds his gratitude for those who have helped his business to grow while also giving a nod to his team of staff, which includes a specialist team of spraypainters and panel beaters.

“I want to thank all those who have given us custom and support over the 21 years,” says Liam, adding, “It’s also so important to have good staff and without them, we wouldn’t be where we are.”
