One lane of traffic is in operation in Ennistymon after a truck hit into a wall at Blake’s Corner earlier today.
Access to Lahinch has been restricted at the notorious traffic blackspot after the collision which occurred before 11am. The truck was travelling to Lahinch Beach with rock armour before the accident.
Gardaí are directing traffic in Ennistymon while attempts are made to remove the vehicle, locals expect it will not later this evening until this proves to be successful.
There will be a longer wait for a permanent solution at Blake’s Corner with Clare County Council confirming it will be 2021 at the earliest until necessary works are completed.
Motorists have been advised to travel by alternate routes as lengthy tailbacks have been reported.
