Clare have no choice but to go all out ahead of their meeting with Limerick in the Liberty Insurance All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship according to manager, Patricia O’Grady.

Both sides lost out in their opening games, Galway defeated Clare by ten points while Limerick were eleven points adrift from Kilkenny. Patricia O’Grady told The Clare Echo that her side are ready to be targeted by their neighbours.

“They’ll be targeting us, we’ll be number one target. It didn’t matter who we were meeting next week on the back of a first round defeat you have no other choice, you have to go gung ho. It’s probably going to be an added incentive for Limerick to come and take us but we’d be saying the exact same if they’d won the first round. Now both of us are coming and we’re going to have to scrap very hard for two points”.

After receiving a red card on Saturday, Eimear Kelly is set to miss out while Inagh/Kilnamona’s Aoife Keane has been ruled out through injury. Both girls won Ashbourne Cup medals with UL this year.

“Aoife Keane is not in contention owing to her injury. We have to see what she’s (Eimear Kelly) cited for really. Straight red I thought was a bit harsh but it’s ultimately what she’s going to be cited for, I saw it, I saw a few of them in the game but she was the one that got caught. We’ll see what she was cited for, I don’t believe there was massive intent or dangerous play in it but we’ll see what she’s cited for”.

O’Garney Park in Sixmilebridge hosts the game which throws in at 5pm on Saturday.
