€320,000 in capital funding is to be allocated for fifteen providers of early years and school age childcare in Clare.

Funds provided to each of the fifteen vary from €3,000 to €50,000. The contributions will go towards the creation of new childcare places, natural outdoor play areas and the essential maintenance and repair of services.

Lissycasey Laugh & Learn is the biggest winner in the county as it’s set for a €74,695 boost, Kilnamona based Mini’s Preschool and Afterschool Club as well as Spraoi Early Learning Centre in Ennis will both get €50,000. Ogonnelloe’s Little Einsteins Montessori Preschool and Little Harvards in Quilty are to obtain assistance in excess of €45,000.

Dearcán Beaga, Shannon (€7,000), Little Deers, Ennistymon (€7,000), Jitterbugs Montessori, Kilkee (€6,821), Réalta Draíochta, Ennis (€6,800), Cairde Beag, Kilkee (€6,700), Bridge Kids, Sixmilebridge (€5,000), Kincora Kids, Killaloe (€4,495) and Scariff Playgroup (€3,383) are the others to benefit.

Funding was awarded following the completion of a very competitive application and appraisal process.
