GLOR and Ennis Book Club Festival have decided to cancel all events as part of Ennis Book Club Festival this weekend due to the ongoing difficult weather conditions.
Refunds will be issued by glór, on behalf of Ennis Book Club Festival, for all Festival events and glór will make contact with bookers as soon as possible next week.
“This difficult but necessary decision was taken in the interests of staff, contributor, volunteers and audience safety,” a spokesperson said.
Over the past ten years, the Festival has attracted a host of national and international writers and speakers.
These have included: John Banville, Roddy Doyle, Anne Enright, Blake Morrison, Edna O’Brien, Joseph O’Connor and Martin Sixsmith.
Newer writers such as Colin Barrett, Sara Baume, Donal Ryan, Lisa McInerney and Henrietta McKervey have also proved very popular.
The contribution of local writers and artists has also been a strong feature of the Festival each year.
