St Cronanโ€™s 10th Century Church

CLARE in Bloom 2017 winner Tuamgraney is looking to build on its success by starting a tourism project in the area.

A public consultation evening is to be held on Wednesday November 15 to mark the start of the preparation of a feasibility study into developing a tourism project.

In recognition of the potential for tourism in Tuamgraney, the Clare County Development Plan 2017-2023 has zoned a site for tourism development centred on St Cronanโ€™s 10th Century Church and Tuamgraney Castle.

Chairperson of Tuamgraney Tourism Working Group Patricia Farrell said the group wants to examine how they can develop a stronger and more sustainable tourism offering to benefit Tuamgraney and the wider east Clare area.

โ€œIt is early days and there are no firm ideas, we would very much welcome the views of people to start the process. I would like to thank Clare County Council and in particular the Killaloe councillors for their support to date,โ€ she added.

The first public consultation/information session to be held on Wednesday, November 15 at the Parish House Tuamgraney between 5pm and 7.45pm.

Interested persons including tourism businesses in the wider east Clare area are all welcome to drop in.
