An additional three cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Co Clare while nationally there has been no rise in the amount of deaths.

For the first time in two weeks, the county has reported an increase in the amount of confirmed cases. Latest detail which is from Friday has revealed that a further three people have tested positive for the virus. Prior to this, the most recently assigned case for the area was an older diagnosis.

To date, a total of 1,764 people have died in the Republic of Ireland from COVID-19. So far in the month of July, there has been 26 deaths associated with the virus.

Officials in the Health Protection Surveillance Centre have reported an additional 12 cases across the country bringing the nation’s total to 25,881.

On Saturday morning, CEO of the HSE, Paul Reid highlighted that the country was at the lowest amount of hospitalised cases since the peak of the virus. Eleven confirmed cases remain in hospital with 5 in ICU.
