SIXTY-THREE employees of The Shannon Airport Group have been recognised for their long service, with a combined 1,805 years of service celebrated at special award ceremonies this week.

The awards honoured employees who have reached career milestones of 25, 30, 35, 40 and 45 years with the organisation.

Colleagues from across Shannon Airport and The Shannon Airport Group’s wider operations were recognised, including staff in airport operations, the Police Fire Service, the Search Unit, aviation development, retail, commercial properties, commercial services and engineering.

Ray O’Driscoll, CEO of The Shannon Airport Group, said it was a pleasure to recognise the contribution made by the 63 employees over many years.

“Their expertise, dedication and hard work have helped shape The Shannon Airport Group over many years and, in turn, have supported the growth and development of the wider region,” he said.

He said their commitment had helped the organisation continue to deliver the high-quality experience for which Shannon is renowned, adding that they were a valued part of the organisation.

Chris O’Donovan, HR Director at The Shannon Airport Group, said the awards recognised more than years of service, highlighting the experience, knowledge and relationships employees had built throughout their careers.

Reflecting on more than three decades with the organisation, Pat Foley, Head of Operations and Safety at Shannon Airport, said he had seen significant changes during his time there, including major investment and progress.

“No two days are ever the same, which is what makes it such an enjoyable place to work,” he said.

He described reaching the milestone alongside so many colleagues as a privilege and said he was proud to be part of the Shannon Airport story.
