*Aidan McCarthy receives his prize from St Francis Credit Union Lending & Business Development Manager, Dave Noble.

CAPTAIN Aidan McCarthy set the way with a standout display for Inagh/Kilnamona to pick up the St Francis Credit Union / The Clare Echo player of the week.

Top scorer with 0-13, seven of which came from play, Aidan was to the fore as Inagh/Kilnamona advanced to a first county final in five years and in the process ended Éire Óg’s reign as county champions.

Such was his form on Sunday that Éire Óg were forced to change tactics with Robert Loftus and then Aaron Fitzgerland assigned to try curb the influence of the 2024 All-Ireland winner.

Big players stood tall for Inamona with McCarthy chief among them, delivering a performance which has already reignited conversation on whether or not he will form part of the Clare senior hurling panel in 2027.
