SHANNON-based Ei Electronics has acquired Limerick company CUBE, a leading provider of design, print and packaging solutions.
CUBE operates from a 20,000 sq ft facility in Limerick and provides services to clients across Ireland in the electronics, medtech, Government, food and beverage and hospitality sectors.
Announcing the acquisition, Ei Electronics Group CEO Leo Clancy said CUBE had been a “key trusted partner” to the company for many years.
“The culture created by Brendan, TJ and their team is a great fit to the Ei values of Quality, Service and Innovation,” he said.
CUBE Sales Director TJ Ryan said the acquisition was a “very positive development for CUBE and for our employees”.
“Becoming part of the EI Electronics group provides a strong platform for future growth and investment while maintaining the values and customer focus that have made CUBE successful,” he said.
CUBE founder Brendan Ring described the acquisition as a “very proud moment” after 30 years with the company.
“CUBE has been central to my life for 30 years, and I am immensely proud of what we have built together,” he said.
Mr Ring said he was confident Ei Electronics was “the right home” to support CUBE’s continued growth and development.
Ei Electronics said CUBE will continue to operate as an independent entity within the wider Ei Group following the acquisition.
Mr Clancy said the company was committed to supporting CUBE’s management team to “further grow and strengthen the business”.
CUBE was acquired by Mr Ring and two former directors in 1996, with Mr Ring assuming full ownership in 2010.
The company has since expanded from its traditional print offering to provide specialist print, packaging, inventory management and fulfilment services to customers in the medical device, healthcare, manufacturing and technology sectors.
