ONE of the senior finalists from the last two years are at risk of not making the semi-finals of the 2026 Clare ladies football championships.
Champions Kilmihil have been paired with 2024 winners Kilmurry Ibrickane, 2024 league champions and beaten finalists of the same season St Joseph’s Doora/Barefield plus 2024 intermediate champions Éire Óg.
Without any county representatives, Kilmihil have put together a strong league campaign and are certainly the team to beat when it comes to the championship. Kilmurry Ibrickane will be determined to win back the title while Mark Reidy’s Doora/Barefield will also be under pressure to make the last four for the third year on the bounce.
Intermediate champions Liscannor will be facing off with Burren Gaels in a novel North Clare derby in Group 2 where Banner Ladies and Fergus Rovers will be looking to advance to the last four.
Offering a safety net for teams is the provision of quarter-final places for the third placed teams in the group which realistically mean clubs have to win just one game to make the knockout stages.
Round one begins on August 9th followed by round two on August 16th and the third round on August 23rd. The quarter-finals are fixed for September 6th while there is a gap until the semi-finals that are down for decision on September 27th and the final is earmarked for October 11th.
