A HAMSTRING injury has ruled out Ennistymon’s Daniel Brody for Clare’s must-win clash against Kerry in the Munster U20 football championship.
Clare head for Austin Stack Park in Tralee on Wednesday in their sixth championship outing and the third in phase two. All four U20 teams in action on Wednesday evening must win in order to qualify for the provincial final.
Brody who has impressed at wing back throughout Clare’s championship campaign sustained a hamstring tear in the final quarter of their one point defeat to Waterford on Thursday.
Conor Hill who was out of action for a month with a shoulder injury he picked up when playing for St Flannan’s College in the Croke Cup will make his first start of the championship. The Lissycasey defender was a first-choice starter for the U20s last season and enters the fray at wing back.
Hill’s clubmate Aaron Killeen is back in the first fifteen at the expense of fellow Lissycasey defender Aidan Weaver.
Louis Griffin who sustained a shoulder injury in Clare’s opening round win over Waterford and returned to the full-back line in their defeat to the Déise last week is back in from the off for the Kerry tie. Harry O’Gorman continues between the posts while the defence is completed by Stephen Murphy, Diarmuid Boyle and Michael Kelly.
Senior panellist Evan Cahill is joined at midfield by Seán Fennell with Dermot Coughlan opting for the same forward line for the sixth game running which is led by captain Daire Culligan and includes Donncha O’Dwyer, Colm Breen, Darragh Townsend, Diarmuid McMahon and Ruben Fallon.
