CHAMPIONSHIP pairings are to be made this Tuesday evening for the Clare senior, intermediate and junior competitions in hurling and football.
Double champions Éire Óg will discover who they will be facing off with as they begin the defence of the Jack Daly and Canon Hamilton trophies.
Clareabbey will be the setting for the draws on Tuesday evening as teams lining out at senior, intermediate and junior a will find out their championship opponents.
Reigning champions at senior level will be seeded along with the beaten finalists and semi-finalists from last year. This means Éire Óg are seeded alongside Ballyea, Clooney/Quin and Kilmaley for senior hurling and Cratloe, Lissycasey and St Joseph’s Doora/Barefield in senior football and they will not meet in the group stages.
Clubs that were relegated are seeded along with the beaten finalists and semi-finalists for the premier intermediate hurling and in both codes at intermediate and junior level.
Holding the draw in April is the earliest that Clare GAA have completed the championship pairings since 2022 and the move has been widely welcomed by players and managements of club teams in the county. The draws had been held in May last year and in 2024 and June in 2023.
