A HISTORIC first Junior A hurling championship win for Banner GAA was celebrated as they capped off their double delight.

Ennis based Banner GAA were in the familiar surroundings of Hotel Woodstock for their celebration dinner dance this month.

Following their success in winning league and championship titles in 2025, the Banner’s players got their hands on their medals to fully mark the achievements.

Former hurler of the year and two-time All-Ireland winner Seán McMahon presented the medals on the night.

In October, Banner beat Ballyea to win the Junior A hurling championship for the first time. They will line out in the Clare intermediate hurling championship next season and will be battling to lift the Pappy Callaghan trophy.

2013 All-Ireland winning defender Cian Dillon was joint manager of the Banner side along with Donagh Stack. Liam O’Reilly who was part of Brian O’Connell’s All-Ireland and Munster winning minor management of 2023 served as a selector alongside Noel Kenny. Martin Davis was the side’s S&C coach with Darren O’Neill (physio), Bobby Power (stats) and Cian McNulty (stats) completing the backroom team.
