Round 5 in the Ozone Health & Fitness Winter league at Woodstock resulted in victory for Tony Neville and Liam O’Connor with 59 points and they were two ahead of second placed Colin Higgins and Pat O’Brien.

Round 6 in the league will take place on this Saturday and Sunday when the format will be two to score on the first nine holes with one to score over the final six holes.

The weekend club singles was won by Tony Coote (13) with 36 points one more than Mike Kelly (14) with Gerry Kelly (7) a point further back in third place with 34 points.

Here will be another club singles this weekend.

Winners in the 2’s competition were Tony Coote (4th, 6th, 7th, 14th holes), Denis Ryan (7th, 14th holes), Paul Sherlock (11th), Mike Liddy (4th) and John Baker (7th).

There will be a team of 3 Texas scramble on St Stephen’s Day.

Ennis Golf Club:

Last weekend’s turkey fourball competition at Ennis was won by Barry Larkin (9) and Mark O’Brien (15) with 42 points. They were two better than John McInerney (23) and Leo Herbert (13) with third place filled by PJ Garry (23) and Michael Cummins (17) with 39 points.

Sunday’s men’s turkey singles was won by Ger Donohue (16) with 40 points followed by Conor Gleeson (10) with 37 with third place filled by Leo Herbert (14) with 36 points. The gross was won by Ronan Herbert (0) with 32 points.

Dromoland Golf Club:

Week 3 in the 9 hole wine competition at Dromoland was won by
Philip Alldritt with 20 points. He won on a countback from Noel O’Connor with Fergal Kennedy in third place with 19 points.

John Hayes won the gross with 18 points while the category for handicappers of 20 and over was won by Ger Ryan with 18 points.
