A MYSTERY Clare man has revealed that he “couldn’t believe” his luck when discovering he has landed over €100,000 windfall in the national lottery.

An Ennis man is amongst the biggest Lotto winners in December, a statement from the National Lottery to The Clare Echo has revealed.

Claiming their Lotto Match 5 plus Bonus prize of €122,669 from the December 3 draw was the Ennis man, who picked up his ticket while travelling through Co. Cork. His winning ticket was purchased at Broderick’s Shop in Midleton, Co. Cork.

Speaking about the win, he told the Lottery team, “I don’t usually play the Lotto, but I stopped for a drink and decided to grab a Quick Pick. A couple of days later, I scanned the ticket in the shop and heard the winning sound – I couldn’t believe it! My family didn’t believe me at first, but now that we’re here, it feels very real”.

The Clare man is looking forward to upgrading his van and plans to put the remainder of the prize towards buying a house.
