A WATERLOGGED pitch in Roslevan prompted the postponement of the CDSL Premier Division game between Avenue Utd and Tulla Utd.
Originally due to be held The Cragg in Tulla, the East Clare club had in advance looked for a change in venue due to works that have been undertaken to install a synthetic surface at their goalmouth.
Fixed for a 11:00 kick off, referee Paudie Hayes deemed the pitch unplayable to the surfaces of water from the heavy rainfall that has been countywide over recent days.
Both Avenue and Tulla are unbeaten in the Premier Division this season. The top tier ties between Newmarket Celtic vs Bridge Utd and Fair Green Celtic against Shannon Town Utd proceeded as planned.
In the Boru Sports First Division, Manus Celtic vs Bunratty Cratloe and Connolly Celtic vs Shannon Hibs were postponed.
All three games in the Brian Pyne Tiles Second Division and the three games in the Third Division were also called off.
Weather also impacted on the Berwick Callinan Murphy U21A hurling final. The decider between Éire Óg and Inagh/Kilnamona was moved from an unplayable in Gurteen to the Clarecastle Astro turf with throw-in deferred from 13:30 to 14:00.
