ANTICIPATION is building for a first-ever Clare SHC final between Clooney/Quin and Éire Óg.

The Clare Echo’s online coverage of the Clare SHC is brought to you in association with The Temple Gate Hotel.

Sunday’s decider is bringing a lot of excitement to the town of Ennis and the parishes of Clooney and Quin.

To look ahead to the game, Ross O’Donoghue is joined by Clare minor hurling manager Ger O’Connell, a current selector with the Clonlara senior hurlers, a Clare SHC winner in 2008 and the All-Ireland winning minor goalkeeper of 1997. Eoin O’Brien, corner back on the Newmarket-on-Fergus Clare SHC winning side of 2012 who represented his county at minor and senior levels and was drafted into the Newmarket management for their relegation battle this season after guiding Newmarket Celtic to Clare Cup success and Martin Conlon, a three-time Clare SHC winner with Sixmilebridge. He has been part of the management team with the Broadford senior hurling management for two seasons and has formerly been involved with O’Callaghans Mills senior hurlers plus the Clare and Cork senior camogie sides. He only leaves podcasts in case of emergencies.

On the clár:

  • Paths to the final – is there any evidence from their runs to the decider that indicates who’ll get over the line.
  • Potential man marking assignments
  • How purple patches and a team’s ability to withstand them could decide the game
  • How a balanced side can present more threat than a team reliant on a star player
  • Clooney/Quin’s leading lights in 2025.
  • Shane O’Donnell and David Reidy: Not lighting up the score board but shovelling coal in the engine room.
  • Predictions and how each team can plot their path to victory.
  • Who might be on the radar for Brian Lohan
  • An update from Ger O’Connell on changes to the Clare Minor Hurling Back Room Team
