NEW RULES have brought a renewed lease of life to gaelic football and the race for Jack Daly begins this weekend with an added sense of excitement.

In advance of the action, The Water Break returns to preview the six games taking place in the TUS Clare senior football championship.

The Clare Echo’s online coverage for the football championship is brought to you with thanks to The Shannon Springs Hotel.

Host Páraic McMahon is joined by Clare U20 selector Ger ‘Bobby’ Kelly of Kildysart, current Clare IFC winning manager Johnny Bridges of Wolfe Tones and Kilrush Shamrocks’ David O’Shea.

Johnny gives us an exclusive on his reason for stepping down as Wolfe Tones manager in the past three weeks.

On the agenda:

  • How the new rules will impact on the Clare championship

  • Emmet McMahon’s absence for Kildysart
  • Time to deliver for Doora/Barefield
