CLARE Ladies Gaelic Football Association (LGFA) have confirmed the July County Board meeting which was adjourned last week will take place this evening (Monday).

Correspondence has been issued to clubs that the rescheduled meeting will be held in Hotel Woodstock on Monday night.

Initially the July meeting was to take place on Tuesday last but the County Board sitting ended abruptly when officers left the top table and the meeting without an explanation.

Members of the Clare intermediate panel were in attendance at the meeting, the reason for their presence is unknown. Officials and players in attendance would not comment when approached by the media at Tuesday’s meeting.

In a statement released following the adjournment, a spokesperson for Clare LGFA said the meeting was adjourned by Chairperson Theresa Roseingrave “due to a procedural issue. Prior to the commencement of the meeting, it was brought to the Chairperson’s attention that confidential correspondence, intended solely for the Executive, had been circulated to members of the media.

“In order to protect the integrity of the Association and, most importantly, to safeguard the wellbeing and confidentiality of the players referenced in the correspondence, the Chairperson made the decision to adjourn the meeting. This will allow for a full and proper investigation into the breach,” the statement added.

A commitment had been given in the statement that the meeting would be reconvened once the matter was “addressed appropriately through the relevant procedures”.

Such avenues have now been explored allowing the Executive to fix a new date for the July meeting. Answers and clarity will be given to club delegates at this evening’s meeting.
