LADIES FOOTBALL championship pairings have been made in Clare.
Clubs can begin to plot their championship bid ahead of the planned August start with the current focus for sides on building up a strong bank of fitness as they prepare without their county panellists.
Éire Óg GAA’s clubhouse was the setting for Tuesday’s draw which Clare LGFA Chairperson Therese Roseingrave said was an ode to the Ennis club’s promotion to the top tier.
Attentive delegates from West Clare Gaels and Cooraclare ensured their sides were not omitted from the Junior B draw as pairings were finalised from Senior to Junior.
Condolences were also offered to the families of Olivia Dolan and Éanna Rouine with the Chairperson noting the county suffered “two tragic losses in the space of a few hours”.
At senior level, reigning champions Kilmurry Ibrickane will be expected to emerge from Group A where they are joined by intermediate champions Éire Óg, Burren Gaels and Fergus Rovers.
Group B is slightly more competitive with league winners Doora/Barefield who came up short in the county final facing off with Banner Ladies and Kilmihil both of whom have championship aspirations and a youthful Miltown side.
