GERALDINE O’Brien, a teacher at St. Joseph’s Community College in Kilkee, Co. Clare, has been awarded the prestigious Thomas Mac- Donagh Medal in recognition of her outstanding service to the ASTI (Association of Secondary Teachers, Ireland).

A long-standing member of the Clare branch of the union, Geraldine has served in several key roles, including as a representative on the ASTI Executive and Standing Committee for members in Clare, Limerick South, Limerick North, and Nenagh. She is also a former ASTI President and Vice-President.

The Thomas MacDonagh Medal honours exceptional commitment and contribution to the union and is named after one of its founders. The award ceremony took place on Friday, 23rd May, at the Gresham Hotel in Dublin.
