The Clare Echo has teamed up with Ennis Chamber of Commerce to launch its brand new podcast, The Business Chamber.

Hosted by Joe Melody, The Business Chamber is a video and audio podcast available on all of your favourite platforms including YouTube and Spotify.

Episode 1 is available now and our first guests are BEO Wellness founders Aoibhin Garrihy and Sharon Connellan, who we meet at their new café in Lahinch, The Cottage.

The Cottage is part of the BEO brand’s growing offering, with a retail space and café called The Well at 71 O’Connell Street in Ennis where one can also shop the BEO product line.

Sharon tells The Business Chamber that balancing life as a successful business woman and a mother of three has its unique challenges, “Mom guilt. We have it every single day.”

“Any woman who works – or doesn’t work – the juggle is real if you’re a full-time mom. It’s tough going when you have small children. Every day brings new challenges and you’re trying to collect them from school, get them out the door in the morning, trying to get lunches made, homework, activities, and the older they get the busier it gets I find…”

Aoibhin continues, “And at the same time you could be getting calls to say the freezer is on the blink or there’s a queue out the door, there’s a leak, can you get a number for a plumber, all of these things.”

Speaking about their families’ involvement in the BEO journey, Sharon divulged, “My own little girl says, ‘I’m so proud of you mommy’ and that’s just so lovely and she sees that you have to graft, nothing is handed to you. And it’s important for the kids to see you have to work hard in life.”

Aoibhin added, “Can women have it all? I think they can but can they have it all at the one time? Probably not. Something gives.”

The Business Chamber is live now here. Episode 1 will be available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts in the coming days and a video podcast will be published on Monday on The Clare Echo Youtube channel.
