AN EMERGENCY service driving standard (ESDS) trainer course will be delivered in Ennis Fire Station.

The National Directorate for Fire and Emergency Management, in partnership with the Road Safety Authority, will deliver the course from November 11th to 15th and 18th to 22nd.

Based out of Ennis Fire Station, during the dates of the course fire service personnel from across the country will be undertaking blue light driver training within Co Clare and adjoining counties.

Enhancing safety of emergency drivers and other road users is the primary aim of the course.

All drivers participating in the course have previously been trained to ESDS Driver Level and are now advancing to become ESDS Trainers. This course will enable fire authorities to provide ESDS driver training not only to new entrants into the fire service but also to refresh the skills of existing members.
