ALL-IRELAND final day is edging closer with Clare and Cork both bidding to get their hands on the Liam McCarthy.

To look ahead to the game, weโ€™ve a special preview episode of The Water Break, our sporting podcast to try set the scene and anticipate how things may go once Johnny Murphy throws the sliotar in.

Pรกraic McMahon is joined by two-time All-Ireland winner Kenny Morrissey, 2013 All-Ireland winning goalkeeper Pa Kelly and All-Ireland winning Clare selector Louis Mulqueen.

Clare are looking to win an eleven year wait to be crowned All-Ireland SHC champions while for Cork the wait stretches back to 2005 when they overcame Galway in the biggest day of the hurling calendar.

On the agenda:

  • Best two teams have reached the final
  • Starting as you mean to go on
  • Delays not an option on the field and off it for Clare
  • Why it has taken Clare so long to get back to the All-Ireland final
  • Favourites tag
  • Can Cork bring the same level of display as their semi-final win
  • Worry with Clareโ€™s inability to produce a 70 minute display
  • Ryan Taylorโ€™s return
  • Dara Fitzgibbonโ€™s Cork influence
  • Fire of Clareโ€™s attack through scores and pace
  • Zonal rather than man-marking approach expected from Clare defence
  • Rabbits under hats
  • Brendan Buglerโ€™s input to the Clare management
