THERE are a number of changes to the Clare District Soccer League (CDSL) executive for next season.
Mondayโs Annual General Meeting of the CDSL was a new departure as the media were not invited to attend. Delegates elected a new secretary, treasurer, registrar, PRO and some committee members.
While there are fifteen officials now at the top table of the CDSL, none of them are woman.
Outgoing chairman Jason Ryan from Kilrush was returned for another term as was vice chairman Ronnie Pyne.
Richard Cahill (Fern Celtic) is the new secretary replacing Denis Collins who didnโt seek re-election. Cahillโs previous post as grants and compliance officer remains vacant.
Collins remains on the executive as he was elected to the post of PRO which was vacated by Dean Russell but the Shannon man remains as fixtures secretary.
Avenue Unitedโs Frank Gormley is back on the executive. He was elected to the position of treasurer, a position he held previously, Tony Downey had resigned from the position earlier in the season prompting Mike McInerney (Kilkishen Celtic) to step in but he didnโt seek re-election to the post.
Nigel Braddish (Avenue United) is the new registrar replacing Eddie Crowe (Sporting Ennistymon).
Coole FCโs Chris Harrington and Ken Moloney were elected to the committee.
A proposal from Fern Celtic to allow two teams from the one club to compete in the same league was defeated.
Registration fees for the coming season were increased to โฌ50 for junior players, to โฌ25 for junior ladies, to โฌ20 for youths while under 17 fees will be โฌ150 per team.
Shannon Hibs have expressed an interest in rejoining the league for the new season which will again start with the league cup competitions.
The meeting was informed that the outgoing youths (Dean Russell) and Oscar Traynor (Donie Garrihy) managers will be continuing in those roles and that former League of Ireland manager Shane Keegan has been added to Garrihyโs management team.
