AIDAN MCCARTHY is named to start in the Clare senior hurling team while Shane Oโ€™Donnell and David McInerney are included among the substitutes for Saturdayโ€™s National Hurling League final.

McCarthy is included at corner forward at the expense of Keith Smyth with the Killanena man dropping out of the matchday panel for Saturdayโ€™s final. He joins Ian Galvin and David Reidy in the inside line.

Conor Cleary is to captain the side from full-back where he is flanked by Adam Hogan and Conor Leen with Eibhear Quilligan manning the posts. John Conlon leads the side from the centre-back berth with Cian Galvin and Diarmuid Ryan alongside him on the wings.

Having picked up a knock in the semi-final win over Tipperary, Mark Rodgers makes the team at centre forward. David Fitzgerald and Darragh Lohan are named as the midfield partnership with Fitzgerald expected to swap with Cathal Malone at wing forward while Peter Duggan maintains his spot at number twelve.

Six of the Clare team will be playing in their first NHL final namely Adam Hogan, Conor Leen, Cian Galvin, Darragh Lohan, Mark Rodgers and Ian Galvin.
