SEVEN changes have been made to the Clare senior hurling team for Sunday’s fourth round league clash versus Kilkenny.

Brian Lohan’s side welcome Kilkenny to Cusack Park on Sunday (13:45) as they bid to keep their unbeaten run intact.

Éamonn Foudy, Paul Flanagan, Diarmuid Ryan, Conor Cleary, David Reidy, Peter Duggan and Mark Rodgers enter the named starting fifteen. Cian Broderick, Rory Hayes, Cathal Malone, Sean Rynne, Robin Mounsey, Patrick Crotty and Ian Galvin are those to miss out.

It is a first competitive start of the year for Peter Duggan who lines out at wing-forward, David Reidy assumes the centre-forward role with David Fitzgerald completing the line.

A new midfield pairing of Cian Galvin and Darragh Lohan has been named with Conor Cleary’s return pushing Conor Leen to wing-back while Paul Flanagan slots in for Rory Hayes at corner back.

There was some confusion in the announced team with the release from Club Clare showing a different goalkeeper in what was circulated to members via text and email. Officials with Club Clare have confirmed that Foudy will be the goalkeeper.

Clare last defeated Kilkenny in the 2021 Allianz National Hurling League and are currently on course to qualify for the semi-finals.
