ACTION will commence in the Ennis Carpets Clare Cup this weekend with 34 teams vying for glory.

One Premier Division side will be eliminated in the first round with Coole FC hosting last year’s semi-finalists Tulla Utd. The other first round tie pits Mountshannon Celtic against Sporting Ennistymon.

Nine second round ties are down for decision on Sunday as clubs battle to claim the Cup from Avenue Utd who themselves will be in Munster Junior Cup action. The remainder of second round fixtures are scheduled for February 18th.
