A FEMALE pedestrian in her seventies has been killed in Moyasta.

Gardaí remain at the scene of a fatal road traffic collision which occurred at approximately 7:10pm on Saturday on the N67 at Moyasta between Kilrush and Kilkee. The collision involved a woman and a van.

Aged in her late seventies, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body has since been removed to University Hospital Limerick where a post-mortem examination will be conducted. No other injuries to persons was reported.

Services of forensic collision investigators has been requested while a portion of the N67 at Moyasta is currently closed with local diversions in place.

Any witnesses are asked to come forward and contact An Garda Síochána with any information they may have.

Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the N67 in the Moyasta area between 7pm and 7:30pm are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
