TRAIN SERVICES from Ennis and Limerick to Heuston have been suspended leaving Clare supporters heading to Croke Park stranded.

Iarnród Éireann confirmed shortly after 10am that there had been a “major disruption to services” with emergency services attending an incident on the line between Ballybrophy and Portlaoise.

As a result, Iarnród Éireann cancelled the 10:25 Ennis to Heuston service. Hundreds of Clare supporters had also been waiting in Colbert Station in Limerick. The next train scheduled to leave Limerick for Dublin is 2pm.

No alternative bus service has been organised for those who had intended on travelling via train leaving a section of Clare supporters scrambling to put together last minute plans to get to Croke Park for the All-Ireland senior hurling semi-final.
